Placer County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
About the Animal Shelter
Founded in 1973, the mission of the Placer SPCA is to enhance the lives of companion animals and strengthen the human-animal bond. We offer programs and services aimed at keeping pets and people together.
Shelters Service Area
We serve all of Placer County, California, including the towns of Roseville, Auburn, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Meadow Vista, Colfax and others.
Adoption Process
Adopters complete a Matchmaker Questionnaire, which is reviewed by staff or volunteer adoption counselors. Dog adoption fees vary. Cat adoption fees are currently waived for adult cats (over one year), kittens (under one year) are $49.
Meet the Pets
We have two locations and a mobile adoption unit. Our primary location is at 150 Corporation Yard Road, Roseville, CA 95678. Our new adoption center in Auburn is located at 1482 Grass Valley Highway, Auburn, CA 95603. Our mobile adoption unit brings adoptable animals to various locations throughout the community on average five days a week.
