About the Animal Shelter
The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the pet overpopulation problem in Georgia. The goals of the Georgia SPCA include, but are not limited to: Placing homeless and unwanted companion animals into loving homes; protecting lost, strayed, unwanted and abused pets until a permanent home can be found; offering low-cost spay/neuter programs to reduce pet over-population; educating the public about responsible pet ownership; promoting humane education programs; offering the public an alternative to Âkill animal shelters; alleviating cruelty, abuse, neglect and abandonment of all animals; partnering and consulting with local governments and law enforcement to identify and prosecute animal abuse cases; partnering and consulting with other adoption centers and humane organizations throughout Georgia to implement similar programs and guidelines within their organizations. As a Âno kill organization, all healthy animals accepted by the Georgia SPCA are placed in an adoption center or foster home until adopted. All pets are fully vetted prior to adoption, including all vaccinations (including rabies), heartworm prevention, flea prevention, spay or neuter, and micro-chip.

Our adoption fee for kittens has been temporarily reduced to $125 and our adoption fee for cats over one year old has been reduced to $100. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, disease testing for FeLV & FIV, age appropriate vaccinations up to the adoption date, deworming, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, 24Petwatch microchip, and 30 days of ShelterCare Pet Insurance.
