About the Animal Shelter

Friends of the Four-Legged and Furry was founded in February 2007 by volunteers for the Preston County Animal Shelter. Under original leadership the group raised funds to benefit the shelter and the abandoned animals. Currently, FOTFLAF maintains a commitment to benefiting the PCAS and has also taken on cat rescuing. Adoptions are held off site at the Petco in Morgantown, WV and can be arranged privately at the foster home. FOTFLAF members are devoted to finding homes for abandoned animals as we believe strongly that companion animals are family and should not be discarded.

Shelters Service Area

Friends of the Four-Legged and Furry works with Preston County and surrounding areas. Adoptions to surrounding areas and out of state are permitted.

Adoption Process

To adopt a cat into your family, please speak with an adoption representative for an interview. Submit an application. Adoption fees vary depending on the medical care required for the particular cat. A contract must be signed, which seeks to protect the best interests of all parties and to uphold the West Virginia state law.
