Apoc is a happy Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix who was born around February 1, 2012. He is very sweet and craves the company of people. Because Apoc's previous person did not keep him on heartworm preventative, he was heartworm positive when we took him in at Pet Placement Center. One of our wonderful foster parents took Apoc into her home and took care of him through treatment. He is now healthy and ready for a home where he can be the center of attention. He should not have a home with large dogs or cats.
Apoc is spunky and opinionated. He is handsome and very sweet, but does not show well at the Center because the energy of the other dogs stresses him out. Terriers are less excitable than other terriers, having a gentle, well-mannered and gentlemanly personality. (They are, in fact, known as The American Gentleman). Though the typical terrier spunk and attitude shows up now and then, they are generally easygoing and amiable. Their keen intellect also makes them easy to train and eager to learn. Boston Terriers get along with the whole family and other household pets (especially like-minded Boston Terriers). This is a playful breed that likes to be involved in family occasions. Protective at just the right times, Boston Terriers will bark if someone approaches the house in a suspicious way.
If you have ever lived with a Chihuahua, you know Chihuahuas are the ideal lovable, loyal and long-term pal. When you're alone in the house with a Chihuahua, you're never alone -- they like to sleep on your lap, sit by your side, or follow you from room to room while you do chores. This breed craves affection and companionship. They are quick-witted, cunning, and sweet. When you are away from home, they protect the home as their personal domain, barking at the sign of any approaching stranger (making them surprisingly effective watchdogs). This endearing love and devotion often accompanies a big-time attitude packed inside a pint-sized frame.
Apoc is part of our Adopt & Stay Program. His adoption comes with a FREE six-week course at Play Dog Excellent.
The adoption fee is $90 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, test for heartworms & heartworm preventative medication, deworming, flea treatment, microchip, & spay or neuter.
